  • Changed Louisiana Avenue’s name to Compton Hill Place to reinforce neighborhood identity

  • Achieved Compton Hill Reservoir Square historic status 1978

  • Revised historic district guidelines for the neighborhood 1980s

  • Renovated and repaved neighborhood curbs, sidewalks and streets 1985

  • Completed greenway at Compton Blvd and Geyer Ave with a new iron fence

  • Closed Virginia Avenue at Russell Blvd 1983

  • Installed brick pillars with engraved limestone plaques and ornate streetlights at Virginia Ave and at Compton Hill Place completed 1984

  • Attracted an early investment in the neighborhood of $3.3 million from a local developer that included rehab and new construction

  • Constructed and continuously maintained a flower bed in the park to honor the developer when he passed away

  • Influenced City politics through organized group  and individual actions including testifying at Aldermanic hearings and voting

  • Succeeded in removing a billboard from view on I-44

  • Invested in local first responders with a Police Appreciation Picnic

  • Sponsored two independent CHRSRA house tours, 1987 & 1989

  • Participated in multiple Grand South Grand house tours, 1994, 1995

  • Organized and participated in Compton Heights/Compton Hill house tours, 2016, 2018

  • Wrote a grant and installed a playground that is modern and safe for children

  • Developed a listserv and digital phone roster for members of the neighborhood association 

  • Planted trees along the north side of the Compton Hill Reservoir 

  • Accepted an award of appreciation from the City of St. Louis’ Forestry Dept. 1988

  • Collaborated with Forest ReLeaf with more trees planted in the park

  • Created a dog park in Compton Hill Park open to all

  • Pressed for safety in the neighborhood streets, culminating in installed speed bumps

  • Contributed monetarily to new sidewalk lighting throughout Compton Hill Park

  • Initiated rehab of the tennis courts

  • Installed a brick plaza in Compton Hill Park to remember and honor deceased residents who made an impact on the neighborhood
